JAX Café Earns Top 10 Ranking in Mpls St. Paul Magazine’s 2008 Readers Poll
JAX Café was voted #7 in the Ten Best Restaurants category of Mpls St. Paul Magazine’s 2007 Reader’s Poll. JAX Café was also voted #2 in the Brunch category, #2 in the Outdoor Dining category, #2 in the Service category, # 2 in the Special Occasion category, #2 in the Twin Cities Institution category, #3 in the Romantic category, #5 in the Neighborhood Restaurant category and #5 in the Steak category.
Trout Tout
The closest place to home to reel in the Star Prairie rainbow trout is the pretty little stream at JAX Café. The fish don’t put up much of a fight; the restaurant will take a picture of you and your netted catch before whisking it to the Kitchen. The whole trout arrives tableside (JAX will bone) deliciously broiled (or pan fried) and simply accompanied by crisp veggies, new potatoes, lemon, and a choice of soup or salad. Gimmicky? You betcha. But it’s worth it for fish so fresh it makes day-boat look old. –Ingrid Skjong
